Week 101 (The Last Week)

Image
Yup. I just finished my final week on the mission. We set high goals this week and made it count, we achieved every goal and we're feeling pretty good! I'll be honest, it doesn't seem real quite yet. I feel like I'm going to be a missionary forever and I have a little bit of mixed feelings as I'm nearing the end. Not too sure how I should feel about it.  But I do know how amazing the mission has been. As I think back on these last 2 years I can't believe the opportunities I've had and the wonderful things I've been able to be a part of. I've gotten to experience so many cultures and meet so many wonderful people. While things like that have been amazing, the best and most important things I've experienced have been the spiritual experiences. As a missionary you are put in lots of spiritual situations and it's humbling to be a part of. It's crazy what happens when you put the Savior in the center of your life and spend every waking hour tr...

Week 100 (Welcome to the 100th week)

Image
Wow! Hey everyone, welcome to the 100th week of the mission. That's kinda wild. Anyway, we had a good productive week this past week and we saw lots of miracles. We've had to clean out a lot of our teaching pool, but we've been finding a lot and working with the members. Our friend Antonio is awesome. He has some challenges but is so ready to learn and have a positive change in his life. It's gonna be really really good for him. I had my second to last Sunday and got to bear a quick testimony and it was awesome. But we're looking forward to this upcoming week and getting after it.  Next week I'll have a good email and kind of recap the past 2ish years of my mission. But for now, just know it has been the biggest blessing in my life. For those who are thinking about serving a mission or have just received a mission call; Take courage, it will be the best thing you ever do.  Pensamiento Espiritual:  I love what Nephi says in 1 Nephi 16:29 he says, "And thus w...

Week 99 (Y'all talking about something interesting?)

Image
We had a good week here in Spain! A little bit ago we had to kind of start over with our teaching pool so we've been on the find grind and it's actually been really good, we'll continue to find more people and continue to teach! This week we got to meet and teach our friend Antonio. It's cool to see how the gospel can light up the lives of those around us. He has lots of challenges and is looking for peace in his life. He was able to feel the spirit in our lesson and even came with us to see a baptism, so it was very special.  You guessed it, I have another street story for all of you. We were teaching the restoration to a nice lady and her mother on a bench when this random dude walks over to us and asks, "Are y'all talking about something interesting?!?" My first initial thought was, "uh oh, this dude wants to bash with us in front of these poor people." But I just smiled and said, "Yes of course, something that will change your life, do y...

Week 98 (Un Pobre Forastero)

Image
This week we got through some of my "lasts" as a missionary. We had zone conference this past week and it was so surreal and crazy to be up on the stage saying goodbye to everyone. Didn't think that day would ever come. But it did, not much I can do about it now, so we'll just get back to work and make the best of what we got left.  We had a good week! Other than the zone conference it was pretty normal. There weren't any big swings or huge surprises. But we still saw miracles everyday! Our teaching pool is growing and we're feeling better. We're working a lot more with the members and it's been super good and we've seen lots of blessings and we'll be primed for a really good last month here in Cornellà. I'll keep you all updated on all the fun news  Un Pobre Forastero:  It's what we did for our musical number for Zone Conference. It's "A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief". It has become one of my favorite hymns in the mission. ...

Week 97 (It's always more beautiful after the storm)

Image
That it's always more beautiful after the storm. It was a good reminder of that this week. After a decently difficult weekend this past week we were looking to get out there and have a good rebound week and get things going. The first two days of this past week were toughhh. I just mean that it was all day trying to find and only finding rejection. But it all worked out ok in the end! We tried to keep our head up and do the best we could. After those tough days and a little extra prayer we started to see miracles, like way above the normal amount of miracles and it was so so amazing to see and be a part of that. From random encounters with people that we've taught in the past to meeting some awesome people with lots of potential, to just the little things, it was very humbling to be a part of.  One of these examples is when we were traveling to an area to contact. We jumped on the metro and started some contacts. I made eye contact with this woman and her daughter and they bot...

Week 96 (An extra interesting evening in Cornellà)

Image
Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great week! We had a good one here in Spain! These past two weeks we've been able to sort out our friends into people who want to progress and then some people who weren't really that interested. It's given us more time to find and contact so it's been fun and a rollercoaster of a ride haha. We're trying to focus in on the members and really support them and find through them. I think it's been really good!  Cornellà Centre: Although we're trying to up and do better with our member work we've still had some funny moments in the street trying to contact people. We were in a section of our area called Cornellà Centre, we just finished making a few calls and started to talk to people. These 3 drunk dudes then called us over and we started talking. Turns out that 2 of the 3 were members in Peru and welp.... turns out they took a turn in life and it was kinda sad to see. But we got their numbers and we'll see if they want ...
