Brock Jolley Spain Barcelona Mission 2022-2024

  Okay so buckle up, we had an awesome crazy week. So first of all we had Zone Conference, it was great. Everyone did a good job and it was a very edifying experience and it was fun to be with all the missionaries!! We worked hard through the week and saw some progress with some of our friends so that was a big blessing.  Next, we got to go to the temple this past Saturday as a mission. All three missions from Spain (about 400 missionaries) were all gathered together to be at the temple and also hear from an Apostle of the Lord. Elder Christofferson came to the mission and spoke to all of us and it was so so amazing. Everyone got to shake his hand and the direction we received from him and the other leaders was really inspiring. It was truly an incredible week.  A fullness of Joy:  As a missionary we talk about the temples a lot, but for us the temple lies outside of our mission boundaries so I haven't been able to even see the temple for about 19 months.   Hey everyone! Welcome back to the week! Hope you've all been good! We've had a really good week here in Cornellà. The work with the members is going really well and our friend Maribel is progressing super well! She's reading the Book of Mormon everyday and feeling the change in her life. The peace, love, and joy she's been looking for is now being filled and she loves it. She's progressing so fast and we're trying our best to keep up with her jaja she's a rockstar. We're also next-door neighbors, literally, it's awesome. People seem to be a little flakey here though, Maribel isn't, but the rest of them are. It's tough, but something we're working through.  Maribel: It's just been so so cool to see the growth and change in her life through the spirit. She's testified of how her life has already changed and how the spirit has testified of the Book of Mormon and she's had more love, patience, and peace in her life. It's awe...

  Hey! How y'all doing? We've had some big changes here in Spain! For the past 3 months I was in Valencia, serving and loving the people there. It was awesome! This past week on Friday I moved and I'm now here in the ward of Cornellà. It's actually super awesome because I was here for 8 days about 10 months ago and now I get a second chance at the area a little bit haha. A lot has changed here in Barcelona and I'm excited to get to it! My new companion is Elder González, from Nicaragua. I'm finishing his training and it's going to be an awesome transfer.  A Second Chance: We have a few opportunities to have second chances here in Cornellà. A special experience happened this past week when Elder González and I were in a new part of town. We had some people to talk to and members to get to for lessons. We were seated on a bench knocking out some of the contacts and a dude sat down opposite of us and I felt the urge to talk to him. I didn't, I reasoned with...

Bon día! As always, I hope you're all good and have had an awesome week. We're doing pretty good on this side of the pond. Valencia is pretty amazing. We have transfers this upcoming week so we wanted to take our last full week and give it our all. We did pretty good. We have an amazing teaching pool here in Valencia but we could say that lots of them are "slow burners" meaning that their progress is steady, but slow. We're learning patience with them. We also got to fast this past week so that was sweet. The members here have really become like family and it's been a huge blessing to be here with them.  I'll be honest I'm not sure what to put as a good story but it's always good to see the light of Christ light people up when they're feeling down.
