Week 95 (One Final Run)

Image
This week we had transfers. It was my last one. Elder Placencia and I are staying together and we're gonna go crazy these last weeks. We still have a good group of friends progressing and we plan on growing our group. Other than that we had a good week. We're working hard and we're staying focused, I've set some good goals for this transfer so we're gonna make it count.  Sant Jordi:  Here in Spain, more so in Catalunya where I'm at, there's a festival called Sant Jordi. It's a day when everyone gives each other roses and a book. The story behind Sant Jordi is really fun but I'll leave that to you to look it up. The group of us bought cheap little roses, stuck them in our bags and we were loaded up with Books of Mormon and we hit the streets giving everyone we could a Book of Mormon and explained what it was and why it's important. It was pretty awesome! So now you know, Sant Jordi is just the best.  Pensamiento Espiritual: I've been listening...

Week 94 (We're just a little behind!)

Image
That's what I got told as we entered the mission office for interviews with the president this week. We were supposed to start at 3, but didn't actually start until 5. But, I always love interviews and getting to talk with my mission president! And we had a good week on top of all of that so that's good. We're working hard and we're seeing lots of blessings in the work! This week we also had the privilege of fasting so that's always a spiritual bonus. We're entering the last week of the transfer so we're looking to go at it.  This week we had exchanges and I got to be with Elder Michaelson. He's awesome, we started the mission at the same time and both got trained in the Valencia zone so we've been pretty good mission buddies. But it's just been fun to see how we've all grown and changed as missionaries. It's been pretty special.  Pensamiento Espiritual:  I loved Come Follow Me this week. The story of Enos and the power of sincere pra...

Week 93 (Crows take baths in ants)

Image
Yeah, that's what someone told me this week after I asked them how their reading of the Book of Mormon went... I was lost for words. I had no idea what to say. But that's okay! He also said it went good so maybe things will turn out? Anyway, this week was good! The trio of Elder Placencia, Iýemisa and I have been finding our groove and making things work. We're been teaching a lot and it feels pretty good! Our friend María Fernanda is going to be baptized May 4, so that's awesome. In terms of big updates I'd say that is the most important thing. Other than that we've just been making sure to work hard and try to get things done. I wouldn't say that coming down the last home stretch of my mission is giving me anxiety... but definitely a higher level of urgency for the work and I'm just trying to get it all done jaja.  Okay this week we made the trip up to Begues, a little pueblo in the middle of nowhere. We have two friends there, María Fernanda and Jesus...

Week 92 (Take Advice from your faith, not your fear)

Image
Yeah that was a cool quote I read in an article this week. It's something that really really stood out to me. We can either take advice from the faith side of our lives or take advice from the fear. I bet a million dollars that listening and following the faith side is much better.  This week was good! We had lots of conferences! We had Zone Conference and General Conference this week! I went into both conferences with questions I had and it was amazing to see how the answers came. We had lots of friends tuned into General Conference as well and I hope that they were also able to find answers to their questions. In terms of progressing friends, we have a lot of great people we're working with and teaching. Things are coming along well.  Okay so funny thing that happened yesterday. We had the event and entertainment of the evening when a drunk dude came up to Elder Iýemisa, Elder Placencia, and I. He was VERY drunk, like on another planet and started to tell us his life st...

Week 91 (The Concerts)

Image
This week I helped in an Easter concert series that the mission put on. I had a taste of what a famous music artist must feel like as they travel from place to place for all of their concerts and shows that they do jajaa. While it was fun and very spiritual, it did make it a tad harder to work in the area. We still had progress and saw some cool miracles this week.  Another fun little obstacle to this transfer is that we've combined two areas into one and with the trio we're trying to balance it all out. But it's actually been really really fun. All of us get along great together so we've been able to balance well and get things done. It does mean that sometimes we have to run from lesson to lesson but that's the best as a missionary so it's been awesome. We made a trip to Begues this week. It's a tiny town in the mountains and our poor member that took us thought he knew a shortcut to get there but turns out this "shortcut" was super sketch and it...
