Week 96 (An extra interesting evening in Cornellà)

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great week! We had a good one here in Spain! These past two weeks we've been able to sort out our friends into people who want to progress and then some people who weren't really that interested. It's given us more time to find and contact so it's been fun and a rollercoaster of a ride haha. We're trying to focus in on the members and really support them and find through them. I think it's been really good!

Cornellà Centre: Although we're trying to up and do better with our member work we've still had some funny moments in the street trying to contact people. We were in a section of our area called Cornellà Centre, we just finished making a few calls and started to talk to people. These 3 drunk dudes then called us over and we started talking. Turns out that 2 of the 3 were members in Peru and welp.... turns out they took a turn in life and it was kinda sad to see. But we got their numbers and we'll see if they want to come back to church sober.  Right after that interesting exchange we talked to another guy. We invite him to church and then he just says, "you guys know what coke is?" Elder Placencia and I just look at each other and Elder Placencia says, "Like the drug?". Dude on the bench proceeds to say "It's not a drug, it's a plant." And pulls out a freaking bag of cocaine. Yeah we left pretty quickly after that and found a bathroom to wash our hands real good ahaha.

Pensamiento Espiritual:
I have two little thoughts. First is how important obedience is to our Father in Heaven. Elder Holland gives a great BYU devotional called "The Will of The Father." You should give it listen, it's really good. Also, with my reading of the Book of Mormon I'm in probably one of the most heart wrenching parts when the Nephites fall and... it's really sad.
"13 But behold this my joy was vain, for their sorrowing was not unto repentance, because of the goodness of God; but it was rather the sorrowing of the damned, because the Lord would not always suffer them to take happiness in sin. 14 And they did not come unto Jesus with broken hearts and contrite spirits, but they did curse God, and wish to die. Nevertheless they would struggle with the sword for their lives." It shows that with trials some people choose to harden their hearts and turn away from God while others will soften and come back to Him. We need to have patience in our trials and trust in God.
Os quiero mucho,

We made banana bread this week, it turned out pretty good.
